Texas Turtle Sheet Cake




*ingredients

°2 cups granulated sugar
°2 cups self-raising flour
°1 cup butter
°1 cup strong black coffee
°1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
°2 eggs
°1/2 cup of milk
+Powdered chocolate:
°1/4 cup butter
°4 tablespoons of milk
°3 tsp unsweetened cocoa
°2 1/2 c powdered sugar
+Turtle topping:
°1/2 c pecans
°1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
°1 c caramel sauce
 
*How to Make an Easy Texas Tortoise Cake

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease the pan and grease it with flour or use parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour with granulated sugar. Sit aside.

2. In a saucepan, mix 1 cup of butter, 1 cup of coffee, and 1/3 cup of cocoa. Bring the mixture to a boil with constant stirring. Pour in the prepared dry ingredients. Using a hand mixer, mix ingredients on medium speed until wet and dry ingredients are completely combined. Add eggs and half a cup of milk. Mix on medium speed for another minute or so, until well blended.

 
3. Pour into a baking tray, and bake for 25-30 minutes. When the cake is done baking, a toothpick or fork in the middle of the cake should come out clean.

 
4. Prepare the decorations.In a medium saucepan, combine 1/4 cup butter, 4 tablespoons buttermilk and 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder. Bring to boil on heat, stir constantly.

 
5. Remove from heat and use a wire whisk to gradually mix in the powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time.

6. Spread or pour the warm decorations over the cake. While cake is still warm, sprinkle with chopped pecans and chocolate chips. Sprinkle with caramel sauce.
